The Gaston County Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold its Annual Meeting and Volunteer Recognition at noon on June 11, 2008 at The City Club of Gastonia.
Local volunteers will be honored for outstanding service to the chapter and the community.

The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

The Gaston County Chapter of the American Red Cross received its Congressional Charter in 1917, and since that time has provided Gaston County residents with vital Red Cross services that include: Armed Forces Emergency Services (AFES), Disaster Services, Blood Collections, CPR & First Aid Training and Youth Leadership Programs.

After 90 years, our presence in the Gaston Community is stronger today than ever and the need for our services continues to increase.
