American Red Cross Volunteer Orientation Set for Oct. 20 GASTONIA -- Are you looking for a way to fill your free time, do something meaningful to help others and have fun? If so, look no further than the Gaston County Chapter of the American Red Cross. The chapter has volunteer openings in all services areas: disaster, blood, health & safety, Armed Forces Emergency Services and youth programs. Anyone interested in learning more about becoming an American Red Cross volunteer is encouraged to attend a new volunteer orientation session on Monday, October 20 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m at the chapter office. Monica Smith, director of volunteer services and youth at the Gaston County Chapter will share background on the American Red Cross, volunteer opportunities and volunteer training information.
