Lowe's calls Americans to "Pledge to Prepare" This April, long-standing American Red Cross corporate partner and home improvement retailer, Lowe's, will launch a comprehensive public relations and fundraising campaign calling on all Americans to Pledge to Prepare. This innovative campaign will combine the preparedness expertise of the Red Cross and Home Safety Council with the marketing resources of Lowe's to build awareness of preparedness and raise visibility around the annual customer donation program. This in-store and online promotion will be a call to action for consumers to "take the pledge" and prepare for emergencies now. Throughout the month of April, Lowe's stores nationwide will collect customer donations to benefit the chapter where the donation is collected. While the marketing campaign involves both the Red Cross and Home Safety Council, all proceeds of the customer donation program will benefit local Red Cross chapters. Home Safety Council was founded by Lowe's in 1993 and is now its own 501(c)(3) organization. To find out more about Home Safety Council, please visit their Web site, http://www.homesafetycouncil.org. Kidde, a leading global supplier of fire and safety products, will also be a partner in this initiative by donating in-kind and financial support. The "pledge" is a combination of Red Cross and Home Safety Council safety and preparedness information. Below are examples of the pledge, tailored to a children and adult audience: Child's
