Longtime Red Cross Volunteer Recognized for Service
(April 22,2005, Gastonia, NC)—Craig Blaine, a dedicated American Red Cross volunteer since 1991, has been selected as the recipient of the 2005 Health and Safety Services award. Through his leadership and commitment the Gaston County chapter has had a broad impact on the community and touched many lives. By serving as an instructor in Water Safety, Lifeguard Training, First Aid, Adult, child and infant CPR, Blood borne Pathogens and CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Blaine has received the highest standards of Health and Safety Services in educational development and training. He served as one of the external reviewers for the Water Safety Program for the National Red Cross.
Through his proven commitment to the American Red Cross, Blaine has embodied the principals of volunteerism and humanitarian service. He also volunteers for the South Point Life Saving Crew as well as in various capacities in his church, First United Methodist in Gastonia. Employed as a paramedic on the Gaston Emergency Medical team he proves his dedication and commitment to helping those who have suffered from an accident or injury. He uses the critical lifesaving skills everyday.
The Gaston County Chapter is honored and proud to have Craig as a dedicated member of the American Red Cross volunteer family.
